Subcortical lobar intracerebral haemorrhage: clinical-computed tomographic correlations.
نویسنده
چکیده
Fifty patients with spontaneous lobar haematomas were reviewed. Thirty-two were normotensive and eighteen were hypertensive. Vomiting, seizures, and altered consciousness were more common in hypertensive than in normotensive patients. Haematoma size (greater than 4.0 cm) and intraventricular extension occurred most commonly in hypertensive and rarely in normotensive patients. Twenty-eight per cent of hypertensive patients died, whereas none of the normotensive patients died.

The Edinburgh CT and genetic diagnostic criteria for lobar intracerebral haemorrhage associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy: model development and diagnostic test accuracy study
BACKGROUND Identification of lobar spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is important because it is associated with a higher risk of recurrent intracerebral haemorrhage than arteriolosclerosis-associated intracerebral haemorrhage. We aimed to develop a prediction model for the identification of CAA-associated lobar intracerebral haemorrhage usin...

Objectives- to provide a reference anatomy of the bronchial tree of the Jebeer Gazelle by using computed tomographic modality. Design- Experimental study. Animals- Three female Jebeer Gazelle Procedures- Spiral CT images were taken from the thoracic region perpendicular to long axis of the body. CT windows were adjusted as necessary to have optimized images of pulmonary organ. The images ...
متن کاملThalamic haemorrhage vs internal capsule-basal ganglia haemorrhage: clinical profile and predictors of in-hospital mortality
BACKGROUND There is a paucity of clinical studies focused specifically on intracerebral haemorrhages of subcortical topography, a subject matter of interest to clinicians involved in stroke management. This single centre, retrospective study was conducted with the following objectives: a) to describe the aetiological, clinical and prognostic characteristics of patients with thalamic haemorrhage...
متن کاملWhat are the causes of pre-existing dementia in patients with intracerebral haemorrhages?
In intracerebral haemorrhage, the most frequent underlying vasculopathies are cerebral amyloid angiopathy and hypertensive vasculopathy. Although both are associated with cognitive impairment, no study has focused on pre-existing dementia in patients with intracerebral haemorrhage. Therefore, we aimed to determine prevalence and mechanisms of pre-existing dementia in a large cohort of patients ...
متن کاملIntracerebral hemorrhage after fibrinolytic therapy for acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Intracerebral hematoma may complicate treatment of acute myocardial infarction in patients treated with fibrinolytic agents. We studied the clinical presentation and computed tomographic characteristics. METHODS We studied eight patients with lobar intracerebral hematomas after fibrinolytic treatment of acute coronary occlusion. All patients had electrocardiographic and...
